The British Numismatic Society was founded in 1903,
and is a registered charity (No. 275906).
The British Numismatic Society is based in London,
although it has more than 600  members world-wide.
The Society is established for the encouragement and
promotion of numismatic science, particularly through
the study of the coins, medals, tokens and banknotes
of the peoples of the British Isles and Commonwealth,
the United States of America, and all territories that at
any time have been subject to British jurisdiction.
The society also publishes a range or Numismatic
articles and has a huge back catalogue of journals.
