Wrong Planchet /Off Metal (Foreign) Planchet
A wrong planchet error is a coin struck on a planchet of the correct composition, but
the wrong denomination, for example, this could be a twopence struck on a penny
planchet.
An off metal error is a coin struck on a planchet intended for a different denomination
which is of a different composition. This could be a five penny coin struck on a penny
planchet or a British coin struck on a foreign coin planchet.
Sometimes a coin is struck on a previously struck coin and is called a double
denomination error.
