GEORGE IV SOVEREIGN
1821-1830
George IV sovereign has two different obverses and two different
reverses. It was issued every year from 1821-1830.

The first obverse and reverse were by Benedetto Pistrucci. The St.
George and dragon reverse is much like the reverses of todays
sovereign.

The second obverse was designed by William Wyon.

The second reverse was designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen. It
features the House of Hanover coat of arms shield with a crown
above.
