During George IV's reign the two guinea coin was replaced by the
two pounds. There was only one regular two pounds issued in
1823. There were however  proof two pounds coins issued in 1823,
1825 & 1826. The two pounds is sometimes referred to as two
sovereigns.

George IV two pounds has two different obverses and two different
reverses.

The first obverse was by Jean Baptiste Merlen and the reverse was
by Benedetto Pistrucci.

The second obverse was designed by William Wyon and the
reverse was by Jean Baptiste Merlen.
